Tanks and Tees Fiber Wear

My Love of Fiber

Fiber Wear and ME
When I was a young child. My mother asked if I wanted to join 4-H and learn how to crochet. I was thrilled. I used to watch my mother every night. I wanted to learn in the worst way. I was so excited when the time arrived! The following week became my beginning of my love for crocheting. Little did I know what it would turn into. My first adventure was all my creation were put into all the Fairs in the region. All my ribbons were blue! This made me even more excited! As I grew older and started a family. I decided to make baby items, and a friend would bring them to New York and Boston for the really big craft fairs. She always came back empty handed. I decided to mix it up and I learned how to knit. I crafted every day for many years. Giving things away as gifts.
As my life grew with marriage and children. The only thing I could do was knit at night during my quietest time and enjoy the peace and quiet. When computers were invented. I started a custom knitting business on Facebook and I did pretty well selling. In 2018 I became disabled, I started working part-time and this gave me more time to craft. Until the epidemic arrived at the end of 2019. I closed my business with everyone else in the country ordered by the Government and the CDC recommended this because the virus was highly contagious. I went back to work for a short time.
Many of my co-workers asked me if I was still knitting. It really was a silly question. I made a shawl for my boss, then others asked me about tank tops. Then the granny square came up. I had to laugh. I went all the way back to the 60's with a chuckle. If you want something made of granny squares it would have to be special ordered. Granny squares take time. There are many colors, sewing and weaving involved. Please send your request on a contact form and I will get in touch with you. This is when I decided to give my love of fiber another chance. The beginning of "TANKS AND TEES FIBER WEAR" started! I plan on opening in of 2026. I'm so looking forward to a new journey during retirement.
